WHAT IS AALLY?

AAPI: AALLY aims to address the brutal hate crimes/ serious issues affecting the AAPI (Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders) community. We believe that representation for these issues is of the utmost importance. Informing individuals on how to become allies (AALLY’s) can create more unity and prevent less hostility.

Allies: When faced with adversity, it is important to stand in solidarity with the AAPI community. We encourage everyone to keep in touch with their close friends and family, in order to build bonds of trust and dependency.

Listen: The acknowledgement of the real Asian experience isn't something that is fully recognized. However, as helpful individuals, we can set aside time for ourselves to discover lost stories and voices within the AAPI community, whether if its making conversation with family members and friends on current events, or using our social media platforms in uplifting others to share.

Learn: As we aim to truly make a positive impact upon these growing issues, we must continue to educate ourselves and those around us correctly. Asian populations across the globe need our help to keep their stories alive. Whether this be through self-education, discussion, or the sharing of resources, we must continue to use education as our most valuable asset.

Yell: With the use of our social media platforms, it's essential for us to speak out about the different realities that marginalized/oppressed Asian communities are facing around the world. As a website, we hope to attain this goal by writing informative articles, creating interactive stories, sharing resources, and forming group chats for discussion and collaboration. It is our time to make change. It's your time to become an AALLY.
